How many times have you driven by Hawthorn Hill and thought to yourself, “I’d love to vist Oakwood’s most iconic landmark?”. Well the time has arrived! Sunday, April 23, Noon-5pm.
Dayton History and the Oakwood Historical Society have joined together to provide a brief glimpse into the life of Dayton native, Orville Wright. For one day, Oakwood residents, members of Dayton History and the Oakwood Historical Society, and all Daytonians are invited to experience Hawthorn Hill in a way that hasn’t been seen in over 60 years! The exhibit includes dozens of pieces of Orville’s original furniture have been arranged to their original setting within the home after being archived in storage for decades. Moving through the home on this one of kind tour, knowledgeable guides will share information with visitors about the historic structure, its contents and learn more about its well known but mysterious owner.
